Be One of Us

You can become a member of the Central Sampaloc Fire and Volunteer Brigade Inc. in two ways:

BECOME A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER

Do you want to help protect the community from the hazards of fire and natural calamities? Make an impact in society by volunteering to become a firefighter! Save lives and properties alongside passionate individuals who put the welfare of the community above their own social interests.

But before anything else, do you have what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter?

Central Sampaloc Volunteer Fire Fighters should be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Though we are predominantly male, female volunteers are very much welcome. All volunteers must be in good physical condition, as fire and rescue volunteers tend to get exposed to strenuous activities. Aside from being physically fit, a volunteer’s character and personality determine a volunteer’s success as a fire fighter. The following key characteristics should be in each and every volunteer:

Courage

Here’s a fact: being a fire fighter is not for cowards. Courage is needed to save lives and properties of people during hazardous situations—may it be a fire, an accident or a natural calamity. Firefighters are courageous enough to risk their lives for the service of the community.

Commitment

To serve as a volunteer firefighter is a big commitment, and the decision to volunteer as a firefighter should be taken seriously. From Day 1, you will be trained in different aspects of firefighting. As a probationary member, you will have to complete 900 hours of duty before becoming a full-pledged firefighter. When you decide to volunteer as a firefighter, you are expected to commit to what the brigade stands for.

Indomitable Spirit

A “can-do” and “never say never” attitude is a winning attribute of Central Sampaloc Fire and Rescue Volunteers. As firefighters, one should never give up too easily, especially in hazardous situations. Remember that lives are on the line—that should be motivation enough not to give up even when situations are getting though.

Strong Sense of Service

Ultimately, the goal of being a volunteer firefighter is to be of service to the community. As volunteers, we do not get paid. We save lives and properties from the goodness of our hearts, and for community service.

There are endless opportunities and advancement for volunteer firefighters. Aside from belonging to a diverse set of passionate individuals, volunteer firefighters are also given trainings and advancement seminars for them to be certified, and for them to improve in their craft.

BE A PART OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

If being a firefighter is not for you, or if your physical condition is not apt for you to become a volunteer firefighter, you can still help make a difference in society by becoming a part of the Board of Directors of the Central Sampaloc Fire and Rescue Volunteers Brigade Inc.
